Architecture vs. jewellery, or architecture inspired jewellery?
It was in the early 90s when my mother introduced me to this amazing piece of jewellery from Minas, called «Lovers». Until today, I wear it around my neck. There isn’t a single person that hasn’t asked me about it -and the meaning of it- since then. Some people keep a diary to recount their travels, impressions and memories; some take thousands of photos to do so.
Minas reproduces his “visions” and experiences in his jewels, recreating a visual journal of his impressions of the Aegean light as well as the Greek cultural vibe through precious crafted pieces that resemble to the curves of the Cycladic architecture and vice versa. Meaning that one can actually, physically SEE the Cycladic architecture in his jewels. In every one of his creations, he manages to produce a strong silver connection between those two arts: architecture and jewellery. As (the) Lovers do.
