Tribute to the "Atlantis" bookshop

Atlantis bookshop in Oia - Santorini

The man who does not read good books has no advantage over the man who cannot read them. (Mark Twain)

The Atlantis independent bookshop, is located in Oia, in the heart of my most beloved place on earth, the island of Santorini. Craig from Canada, along with some other friends from Cyprus, England, and the United States, decided to do something different and extraordinary for these times we live in; open a traditional bookstore and live inside of it all year long. Literally live inside of it. In a very few words, they travel around the world and collect jewels from all over the globe. Throughout the year they host literary festivals, film screenings, book readings, and good old fashioned dance parties.

My favorite time to visit is during wintertime, when Craig is actually there and has time to really spend time and share experiences and stories… I love the fact that -as they themselves say- have managed to... "land a boat on the terrace and filled the place with books" recreating the entire world.
